Review: Essence Bloom Me Up! Shimmer Powder (LE)

Hey Lovelies!

Every Aussie blogger or Instagrammer has surely seen the new range out in Priceline from Essence Cosmetics. Included in the new range is a lovely highlighter called the Essence Bloom Me Up! Shimmer Powder in shade 01 Rose It Up! Essence seem to bring out a new highlighter in every other new trend edition, all of them are lovely quality for the low low price, this shimmer powder is no exception.

This is a lovely champagne leaning towards pink coloured highlighter that has very fine shimmer/glitter particles in the powder. However you manage to not look like a discoball when you apply this highlighter. This highlighter works for anywhere on the face, above the cheekbones, cupids bow or anywhere else you could possibly want to put it.

The packaging is simple, clear plastic outside which feels sturdy but I still would not want to drop it. The powder has a flower pattern embossed on the top of it, however in mine it is already starting to rub away. Not really an issue but I would almost want to not use it but the powder is so lovely I stress that it is ok to ruin the flowers!!

This retails for $5.75 AU and is limited edition, so if I were you I would run to Priceline and grab yourself one of these babies while you still can! GO!

Review: ChiChi Nudes Palette

Hey Lovelies

I purchased this ChiChi Glamourous Eyeshadow Palette in shade Nudes a while ago at Target when it was on sale. I was originally after the Naturals palette but they were sold out, and how many nude coloured palette's can you own?

The palette contains 12 shadows, some matte and some shimmer. There is a slight amount of fallout from some of the shadows but nothing drastic. None of the shades are chalky and all are very well pigmented and have a decent pay off. They are easy to blend and wear for around 5-6 hours on my eyelids without primer/base (keep in mind I also have oily lids and poor shadows tend to crease, these don't). I think that these palettes are gorgeous, when they go on sale again I would consider picking up another palette. Unfortunately I am barely plain and boring and mainly the neutral palettes only appeal to me but there is I believe 12 palettes in total to choose from. For the price I don't think you can get much better. These retail for $22.95 AU and can be purchased online or in participating stores.

Review: Loreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation

Hey Guys

This is more of a first impressions review than a full blown review as I have only worn this foundation a handful of times. I picked up the Loreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation in shade N3 Creamy Beige which was perfect for my face at the start of winter, however now at the end of winter my face is amazingly pale and only one foundation I own actually matches my skin right now (time for a tan I think!), hence why I have only tried this foundation a few times.

The bottle is quite nice, glass and heavy which I actually enjoy. There is also a pump which makes it an A+ in my books. I also like that you can see how much foundation you have used so you are never caught running out without knowledge.

This foundation definitely gives a medium-high coverage, which I found very odd considering that the texture of the foundation is very liquid and runny. I found that it tended to dry powdery, rather than staying as a liquid. I disliked this as I found that it somewhat accentuated my pores, but in all fairness that could be the primer I was using with it, I will have to test it out and try with different primers. It lasted 4-5 hours on my skin without needing touchups, which is fairly decent for my oily skin. If you like liquid to powder formulations then this could be a big hit with you, it has quite a large shade range for a drugstore foundation and that includes neutrals, cool and warm toned shades. This foundation retails for $29.95 AU for 30ml but if you wait for the right time you can pick it up for cheaper, like I did!
